The field of Probability and Statistics has made profound contributions to many diverse branches of science, engineering, medicine, law, finance, economics, etc. In today's rapidly- evolving information age, we have access to overwhelming quantities of data for the study of complex relationship and phenomena. This demands innovative statistical methodologies, and creates both opportunities and challenges for probabilists and statisticians.

The Second HKUST International Forum on Probability and Statistics (2013), co-sponsored by the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study and the Center for Statistical Science, will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 19 December 2013.
